(Inc. the Nostradamus Quatrains VI 6  I 83  1 46  IX 31)

At a time when quakes are still occurring near the East Coast of Honshu, Japan (see the May 2012 post and its updated September 7th 2014 post When the first nuclear power station was conceived there was a very peaceable non-radioactive nuclear option available that didn’t use uranium on http://nostradamondo.wordpress.com) here’s the lowdown on the month of May’s seismic events in Northern Italy and its lateral surroundings plus a selection of Nostradamus quatrains in random sequence.  Most places mentioned are within the same Latitude band, approximately 41°N to 45°N, or else around 37°N, the Fukushima Latitude.

On 20th May 2012: an earthquake registering 6.1 around 45°N followed just hours after a registered 4.0 with about 10 deaths and significant damage in Finale Emilia, Ferrara and Modena. On 29th May 2012 another earthquake 15 km West at Latitude 44.96°N hit Modena, Mantua, Medolla and Bologna in Emilia-Romagna and registered 5.8, killing 20. Two terrific intensity quakes less than a fortnight apart in an area that residents did not feel was particularly quake-prone until relatively recently. In between there were rows of powerful aftershocks, hundreds in fact. Some experts suspect that a new fault line may be forming as the Apennines gradually move North under the Po valley. But the director of Italy’s National Institute of Geophysics and Vulcanology supposed that the two major earthquakes were from quite different sub-surface faults yet were the same phenomenon. (Rockfaces separating: rockfaces colliding.*) This region may feel shakes  for years to come. It has already had shocks registering as high as 4.5 for the year up to now. Nearby Ferrara last suffered major earthquakes in the Sixteenth Century. Coming more up-to-date, 300 persons died in the medieval city of L’Aquila (42.4°N) in 2009. It is quite normal for a seismic map of Italy to have hotspots along the band at Latitudes 41°N to 45°N but May’s severe activity has surprised seismologists. Despite all that, a six hectares gas storage containment for  3.7m cubic metres of compressed gas at two miles down in Modena province is currently being evaluated. Inside the triangle of Bologna, Ferrara and Modena are many thousands of newly-made homeless.

*Nostredame’s Epistle to the King prophesizes:

In the Adriatic will be made great discord, such that what first will be united will then be separated

Also from the Epistle to the King, link above, here is my commentary on Modene Fulci, through Ferrare:

I feel it very likely that ‘Fulci’ is a piece of Nostradamusing for the god Vulcan which would link it nicely with Modena through the superstitious Pliny the Elder who wrote that fire came out the soil at Modena but only on the days devoted to Vulcan.

VI 6

Apparoistra vers le Septentrion,
Non loing de Cancer l’estoille chevelue :
Suze, Sienne, Boece et Etrion,
Mourra de Rome grand, la nuict disparue.

There will appear towards the North (the Seven Stars),
The bearded star not far from Cancer:
Susa, Siena, Boetica-Boetia, Aletria-Eretria,
The Great One of Rome will die OR great Rome will die, the night having vanished.

A bristling comet quatrain involving the death of a Roman Pope (or else the city of Rome) perhaps hinting at June or July and mentioning Boetia and Eretria in Greece at about 38N whilst Suse is at 45°N and Siena  is at 43°N.

Other places in Italy that are mentioned in the Centuries and that live around Latitude 45°N include Piedmont at 44°N and Tuscany whose capital Firenze is at 43.5°N.

So, is Westerly neighbour France the next in a logical line? After first discounting the disaster described in the Nostradamus Quatrain I 83 as possibly the current financial onslaught on Italy and Greece by the rogues’ banking system (as there’s more than one kind of seismic event) …

La gent estrange diuisera butins,
Saturne en Mars son regard furieux:
Horrible strage aux Tosquans & Latins,
Grecs, qui seront à frapper curieux.

The foreigners divide the spoils,
Saturn glares in March/Saturn and Mars of angry aspect:
A horrible massacre of the Tuscans and and the people of Lazio,
Greeks, who will wish to strike.

Line 2. This sounds astrological. More than once these Centuries quatrains have resembled an astrological judgement to which we do not know the original question. Anyway, it’s a time-marker of sorts.

Line 3, OF ‘strage’ = massacre

Who are these foreigners? With two members of the US Goldman Sachs old boys club mysteriously heading-up democratic Italy and democratic Greece, since neither was ever elected, this resembles the hedge funds and big merchant banks beating countries down by barely legal and nakedly immoral short trading, possibly to loot their written-down resources/gold whilst putting the average wage earner into feudal debt slavery to a ‘central’ bank for generations to come. Nostredame uses the word ‘strage’ which means a wholesale slaughter of men women and children and that’s about what it adds up to say some financial observers. Others are more temperately mortified. Retrospectively this could be the Norman invaders of North West and Central Italy, long ago, but massacre seems such a strong word in that context.

… we can now pass on to Nostradamus Quatrain I 46  which occurs in Southern France along Latitude 43.5°N.

Tout apres d’Aux de Lestore & Mirande
Grand feu du ciel en trois nuicts tombera:
Cause adviendra bien stupende & mirande,
Bien peu apres la terre tremblera.

Very near Auch, Lectoure and Mirande
A great fire will fall from the sky for three nights.
The cause will appear both stupefying and marvellous;
Shortly afterwards there will be an earthquake.

We’re around and about Latitude 43.5°N to the West of Northern Italy. In the sky is a great sight tumbling and for three nights we have these three places in the South of France for reference. It seems believable that Nostradamus was impressed by comets in a quite mystical way. Could this be a comet that circles down or orbits around or passes over mysteriously, even beyond science to explain? The earthquake may be linked to this skyfire. So may the legend of Phaeton.

There’s more skyfire and big hail on that same page in the Nostradamus Quatrain VIII 2. It mentions Auch and Mirande and also Condom in the Midi Pyrenees (43.99°N) and Lyon (45.75°N) plus Marmande (44.30°N ). In the Nostradamus Quatrain X 60 we will even find Michel weeping openly for the future of Nice (43.7°N) Monaco (43.7°N) Pisa (43.7°N) Genoa (44.42°N) Savona (44.3°N) Siena (43.33°N) Capua (41°N) and Modena (44.65°N).

Well, this sure looks like a line of lament, an alignment of anguish. Maybe a new fault line is developing. Meanwhile a ‘solar maximum’ can produce a sunstorm that will travel to Earth, attracted especially to cities of high technological development. Probably this has happened already during this millennium. In a minute or two cities have lost all electrical power with conflicting reasons given and a lot of lasting confusion. It is estimated that the levels of sunstorms recorded so far could double or even triple in strength with appropriate conditions in the Sun. In this circumstance, low-level satellites could be moved out of orbit and would flash a fiery path across the sky in a collision course with Earth. Modern navigation systems depend upon satellites. Anything could happen.

Is this how the legend of ducking-and-diving Sun charioteer Phaeton first got started, prior to electric grids, with weather-freaking light shows and surface burns upon a light-sensitive and leaf-green landscape?

Fast-moving developments in measuring methodologies are constantly revealing that all we have previously projected upon the heavens is scientifically flawed. Even the Sun may not be what it seems! We already know that the brief yet dynamic opening of magnetic portals can happen both on and beyond the Earth and that a burst from the Sun to our ground level can occur, spluttering neutral particles around, but only now is it beginning to seem that something similar to this effect may be possible in reverse; an outflow triggered by relatively weak Sun activity. Ionospheric disturbance of electrons is already observed following major tsunami/massive earthquake and some have recorded and reported unusual sky scenery even immediately prior to such events as these. So far, I doubt the rumours that HAARP has generated enough power to repaint the heavens let alone cause significant seismic activity. (In fact the upper atmosphere may prove to be very powerful in itself with ‘airquakes’ and its own ecology, I suspect.) There are plenty of aerial phenomena yet to be investigated.

Le tremblement de terre à Mortara,
Cassich saint George à demy perfondrez,
Paix assoupie, la guerre esueillera,
Dans temple à Pasques abismes enfondrez.

Line 1, OF ‘cassich’ is the action of a ‘châssis’, one who oversees the opening of a door.

Line 2, OF ‘parfondre’ can mean either to melt down completely or to dig a ditch.

Line 4, OF ‘enfondrer’ means to melt upon or to to punch, push, smash, break something down or get to the bottom.

The earthquake in Mortara,
Opens the door for St. George to dig half down a ditch,
Peace sleepy, War aroused,
The lowest region on Earth OR an abyss of unfathomable depth is driven down while in the temple it is Easter.

Mortara (45°N) is in Italy.

Saint George is a Roman Christian soldier-saint much revered by both Western and Eastern Churches. He is patron saint of many countries including Greece and many cities including Genoa. His annual festive date is 23rd April.

An abyss has opened at Easter time. This describes a geological shock as rockface repels rockface and the bottom of the gulf is driven down, possibly on a grand canyon scale. Whether Greece and Italy are conjoined by this chasm is not clear. Likewise, whether Greece has slipped into it by half.

Humanitarian Note: For a view of the difficult human aspects of destruction in mountainous Southern Italy this May see the website http://w3.gdacs.org/reports.asp?ID=117258 (Reggio Calabria is around Latitude 38°N)

UPDATE: POVERA ITALIA! agosto 24 2016 earthquake at 42°N. Amatrice an ancient Italian city to be found at the coordinates 42°38′N, 13°17′E. The mayor has said “Half the town is gone” following a 6.2 magnitude earthquake around 3.30 a.m. at only 10km deep underground and “There are people under the rubble… There’s been a landslide”. Shockwave tremors were felt in Rome.

UPDATE: POVERA ITALIA! ottobre 26 2016, central Italy – particularly Castel Santangelo Sul Nera, Ussita, Visso – struck by subsequent earthquakes registering 5.4 and 6.0 on the Richter scale.

Many houses have collapsed. Our town is finished”  Marco Rinaldi, Mayor of Ussita (42°57N)

The epicenter of both relatively shallow quakes seems to have been the mountainous area of Valnerina valley between Macerata and Perugia, capital of Umbria. Tremors were felt in Rome and even Venice apparently. Many rendered homeless but fatality figures unclear, hopefully low-to-non-existent.

UPDATE: POVERA ITALIA! ottobre 30 2016, a magnitude 6.6 earthquake at Norcia/Nursia (42°47N) valley of the Valnerina, Umbria, central Italy. Much destruction and homelessness, some injury. In Rome, St.Paul’s Basilica cracked in places and St.Paul’s Outside-the-Walls lost cornices. the epicentre was 82 miles from Rome.

The ancient or antique architecture of central Italy and also Rome may be highly susceptible to tremor destruction and is not being upgraded adequately.

Warnings of Rome’s destruction occur not only in the Nostradamus Centuries and commentaries but also recently in the UK press. Theoretically, this warning is much-advanced, hopefully tens of thousands of years.
