The Tree of Life is possibly definable as yogic, a Tantric path, but is not a system despite all outward appearances. Essentially it expresses a realization that all that may be known is but a symbol of that unknowable ultimate void from which all has sprung, hereby called the Ain.

Without either form or dimensional limits this holds, as if within itself, wherever Time was born and Space first put in motion.

Limitless Light or Ain Soph Aur emerges with God from His own unknowable Being to suggest what is both irrevealable and inconcealable – God within and without His Creation, the Uncreated God self-manifesting.

God may be experienced in different ways, I say, including through the Hollow Crown (perhaps a little like the place where spiralling Kundalini exits the human body or maybe today we could take a new symbol from Astrology; the planet-god Neptune at the far reaches of the Solar System which is our humungous wayward clockwork home). The Qabbalists call the top of the tree in the diagram Kether, the source, the ‘I am that I am’.

Are all Qabbalists then Judean Hebrew scholars? No, Christians may read Revelation 22:1-25 for the night sky’s Milky Way giving place to 12 fruits and then breaking down further to the new space for being that needs no Sun to shine:

“And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, bright as crystal, going forth out of the throne of God and of the Lamb: in the midst of its broad place, and of the river on this side and on that, be a tree of life, yielding twelve fruits, in each several month rendering its fruits, and the leaves of the tree be for the service of the nations; and any curse there shall not be any more, and the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him, and they shall see His face, and His name be upon their foreheads, and night shall not be there, and they have no need of a lamp and light of a sun, because the Lord God doth give them light, and they shall reign – to the ages of the ages.”

(Youngs Literal Translation Bible)

A Tree of Life was painted in Cordoba Cathedral and Michel Nostredame might have seen it in his time. Cordoba had been a great centre for Qabbalah under the Moorish Moslems and Spanish Christians alike. World-class events in 1492 included both Columbus’s unwitting discovery of the Americas and influential Spain’s expulsion of the Jews, causing other countries to enforce strong anti-Jewish policies also. The core tradition of the Tree of Life may have been Jewish but many people of divers faiths were aware of it in the world.

So is there a universal belief behind it? Probably so. I’m sorry congregationalists but it would appear to be at least in part from Astrology. Remember that ancient astrology gave birth to the sciences and quite possibly contributed to the formation of all the organized religions by essentially retaining the One God, the prime mover of everything and the imbuer of the interposing planet-gods or intervening saints at their vespers.

Of course the Tree of Life diagram I’ve compiled above is quite contemporary and there are other versions but the sephiroth made of ten sephirah or categories of the manifest – with the Earth as Malkuth at the bottom and Kether at the top – are what make the tree what it is; a thing of spirit and beauty.

It has, in effect, three columns which also portray two sets of branches either side of a tree trunk. There are lines along which one should travel and it is the travelling that brings personal progress as much as the arriving at its nodal points. (I’m not sure why but I’m reminded of the squirrel that crosses effortlessly the aerial forest of electricity and other cables as it moves up and down either side and criss-crosses the street where I live in East Asia.)

Nevertheless I should say that I had left this somewhat behind me when I entered the most enlightening period of my life but I do recall it having strong spiritual significance to me along the journey. This is no poor reflection on the Tree, more that I have always gone my own way. In fact when I look at it now I am more intrigued by the view from the bottom of the pillars looking up.

From Malkuth we can peer past the organizing Moon and the succouring Sun but only with true meditation as our special lens. The next sphere is Enlightenment and then out through the Hollow Crown. Enlightenment is not a regular station to be hit upon systematically. It is a rare event or even a reward (for lack of appropriate words – there are none available) in a human being’s life that will change some things forever. For this reason it is usually pencilled-in faintly or with a broken line. Interestingly, the tiny planet Pluto has had a similar reaction from astronomers who now refuse for materialistic reasons to call it a planet, despite the urgings of devoted astrologers.

The world of appearances may also be viewed upward from Hod/Glory, and Netzach/Victory. The views are very different with Victory requiring a rather pacific definition such as this:

BHAIRANA THE TRANSCENDER OF TIME
ONE WHO CONQUERED THE BEGINNING
AND THE END
BHAIRANA THE TRANSCENDER OF TIME
ONE WHO HAS WON OVER ALL THAT CAN BE WON
THE EVER VICTORIOUS ONE …

which was taken from the easy-access Hindu video in English ‘Yugas: The Tide of Time’ (as was the list of Yuga years given toward the end of this webpage)

(Also see the introduction to the EPISTLE TO THE KING)

One message of the Tree of Life is love and peace and it avoids fundamentalism but there is a further aspect. It is me and it is you. It is each one of us individually. It is like a ladder for us to climb ‘up’ or else for God to personalize, to an extent, His Self on coming ‘down’ to meet us.

(Yet when we are in Enlightenment there will be no up nor down in any sense, which is not to say that we would not experience a ‘coming down’ should we elect to return slowly and painfully into the world, as the loved Hindu Master Meher Baba has described.)

Jesus, like Buddha Gautama before Him, dwelt amongst us for our sake. Faced with a peremptory stoning for claiming direct experience of God, Jesus the Transcender relied upon a psalm of Asaph in his defence:

– I have said, `Gods ye be, And sons of the Most High – all of you,

Psalm 82: 6 (YLT)

This is not like some English vocab implying that everybody has a crown on the top of their head! Here we find that a human babe is actually a holy matter and that death comes not through time but through how we handle life’s loaded circumstances. Sex, power and currency carry profound personal problems for us that may also spread social dis-ease. The inference of the Psalm is that all souls newly attached to bodies are indeed ‘holographic aspects of God’ for want of better words.  Although we lose that holy innocence a little too willingly we may regain it someday – there is a path available inside each of us – and the Tree of Life has probably been helpful to many searching out their internal path as it seems it can flow with its practitioner, so to speak, without threatening to throw its rider.

The question ‘Who am I?’ is always vital and will hopefully lead you back to that small hard kernel of your indestructible Self which life has overlayered with random reactions and perpetual false teachings. Fears may make us doubt our self especially if that self is our false self, an acquired self and not our born self. Strength will come to tackle fear and deflate it with practice. Associating oneself with ‘I’ may reveal plural and temporary ‘I’s all formed from sensory or imaginary perceptions of conditioned reality. The monstrous ego must be allowed to go unfed by its creator – you – until it dies away, probably not without a fight. Deeper insight brings about a superior consciousness that is not rooted in the ego or the exterior world, accessing the Everything whilst minimizing the physical senses. Sex, power and money will become of growing disinterest and then you may notice that all unpleasant people and events keep their distance from you in your daily life. The self-started sexual feelings may, like false ego, strike back awhile though. Your physical and spiritual health improves noticeably with better behaviours including some generous traits you may never have experienced before. People around you, especially ‘successful’ people, begin to resemble children wearing silly grown-up disguises and showing off amusingly. These are just a few of the things you may encounter on your path. It will take a time to navigate metaphorical tunnels that bifurcate without signposts but can bring about undreamt of changes surprisingly swiftly once you get back to who you really are and not whomever you may have been coerced into being before.

On the subject of Time:

It seems Nostredame used Roussat’s Trithemian theory of millennial rulers when it suited him but not exactly so. (See the Articles CYCLING INTO ETERNITY: EMBEDDED IN TIME and V 87 THE YEAR THAT SATURN WILL EXCEEDING BE)

The Qabbalists like to link the millennia to the six days of Creation:

“The world exists for six thousand years, which raised in the first six words of Genesis … and this state of the earth will be renewed at the beginning of the seventh millennium.” Zohar II.176 b

Dating the birth of Jesus according to Dionysius the Monk (who knew?) and adding 6,000 years brings us to 2240AD. My Article WATCH OUT WORLD! Part 2 discusses the Nostradamus End Time and conjures up 2242AD – maybe less.

From the end-notes of the EPISTLE TO THE KING

NOTE 3: A most important link for us is with two particular quatrains in the Centuries. Despite the unsubstantiated statement by Michel that his prophecies extend to the year ‘3797’, the Centuries quite incontrovertibly set out in Quatrain I 48 a method to calculate the final date for the End Time prophecies:

Vingt ans du regne de la lune passez, (which might indicate 1555)
Sept mil ans (a 7000 year run) autre tiendra sa monarche:
Quand le Soleil prendra ses jours lassez,
Lors accomplit & mine (act out) ma prophetie.

mine = signs made for mute understanding, “signes qu’un muet fait pour faire comprendre” (1580, ‘Essais’ by Montaigne)

Line 1, Line 2 and Line 4 seem gravely factual; 1555 is in Michel Nostredame’s own punctual lifetime whilst the duration of Mankind’s existence on Earth is 7-8,000 years (beyond the 7,000th being under a different ruler) and one part of a cycle of the Sun will locate the season of final destruction. Line 3 provides a clue to the latter but no clarifying information. It depends heavily upon what grand calculation was employed by Michel de Nostredame for these reigning dates of the Sun, the Moon and the Planets plus exactly what he meant by the Sun’s “weary days”.

By most accounts, it would seem to come early in this current calendar millennium which could make fuller understanding of this Epistle, and of much else in Nostradamus, a matter of extra urgency.

Here’s a translation by me which might suggest there was a mistaken ‘passez’ for ‘passer’ and ‘lassez’ for ‘lasser’ during the haste of hot-type printer’s dictation. Either way, Nostredame in his Fourth Line strongly suggests a retrospective sense of invariability to his God-illumined prophecies, the words of which would be merely mimicked by the historical actors, it seems:

Translation:
Twenty years of the reign of the moon to pass,
For seven thousand years others will hold the regency:
When the Sun takes up its term to make weary,
Thereby shall my prophecies stand accomplished and played out.

Things run round in cycles. Although some of these rounds have been Rothschildian Central Banking excursions others are beyond or besides any human control. Before the Nineteenth Century, China with India were arguably the major economic activity zone in the world. Now we can see them regaining the ground they lost to the West in the Nineteenth and Twentieth Centuries. How penetratingly does the predictable ‘Precession of the Equinox’ play a part? And the Vedic Yugas?

If you want to gauge how much money flows into predicting outcomes today ask a local scientific research establishment with their rows of brand-new equipment solicited at very high cost or ask a big bank dealer dicing daily with danger-filled derivatives. Or a military op surveilling anomalies to evaluate in that human layer of map-making that they call human terrain or human geostrata. (The words ‘reversed topography’, a paraphrase from Nostradamus, often crop up on this website. We can only hope that that it dawns on intelligence officers that the stratified superiors in society and their success supports need a systemic reassessment if we are to avoid a maniacal mass annihilation managed by socially-selected self-servers.)

“… space by itself, and time by itself, are doomed to fade away into mere shadows, and only a kind of union of the two will preserve an independent reality.”

This is Hermann Minkowski’s 4-D spacetime continuum, an arithmetic act of faith yet drawn from experimental observation of realities, that contains the Lorentz geometry applicable to Einstein’s theory of Special Relativity. Past present and future must co-exist as a single text woven into the fabric, perhaps as Fate, saving only a major upheaval in spacetime conducted by whosoever may possess such freedom.

The division of the temporal Hindu Yugas is based on the circuitous route of the Earth in space, expressed as 25,920 years exactly (but it’s difficult to estimate fixed points along the circumference other than theoretically – see the Article 2012 NOSTRADAMUS).

Justified visually by a straight line division this then becomes 25,920/2 = 12,960 years and the Yugas, calculated in years, add-up like this:

Set 5184
Treta 3888
Dwapara 2592
Kali 1296
12960

Out of interest, the noun ‘Set’ has a separate transliteration from ancient Egyptian (apparently from an inscription of Anebni, Eighteenth Dynasty) for highlands, foreign lands or the Underworld although some say that the tale of Horus and Set is about the Sun and Saturn.

We are approaching the close of Dwapara Yuga later in this century. As with the Astrology-based concept that we are transitioning the Pisces Era into the Age of Aquarius or the Christian Revelation that the world as we know it will soon end (to be replaced by a descended city that seems interior and directly lit) the Hindu savant expects some concomitant catastrophes that will lead up to a new age of spiritual wellbeing around 2082.

Indeed the ancient I Ching or Chinese Book of Changes closes with two hexagrams called ‘After Completion’ and ‘Before Completion’ IN THAT ORDER underlining its main thrust that nothing really ends but merely changes. So much for Chronos-Satyrn who “eats his children” save that he should swallow a specially swaddled stone with a bandaged cross upon it (a very ancient belief, the cross symbol most probably predated the Crucifixion – see more like this in the Article JESUS WAS REAL).

In China a child at birth is recorded as already one year old, which makes a kind of sense. Totally illogically the West considers that the Day of Birth should be numerated either Zero or Day One and we start to count up from there. Days and Years are already a misfit to one another including when it comes to hours and seconds hence there is no perfect Calendar spanning one year. To find the corresponding ‘lunisolar’ Jewish Calender year for any Gregorian calendar year we can add 3760 to the Gregorian number should it be before Rosh Hashanah/Jewish New Year or add 3761 if it is after Rosh Hashanah. Now I shall state again one of my commentaries to the PREFACE TO CESAR on the dating of Nostredame’s final prophecy as 3797:

We cannot tell but most will assume that this is 3797AD although I sometimes view it as an unexplained yet special entry, not quite a red-herring. Curiously, it compares to the Hillel World Era Hebrew Calendar (following the Septuagint) that started the World from October 7th 3761BC and which had become well-known by the Late Middle Ages. In fact the difference between these BC and AD totals is just 36 years. Could this represent the lifespan of Jesus with 3761 years of the Earthly duration balanced on either side of the outstretched arms of His Earthly presence?
